Perth’s Daybreak are returning to the fore of heavy Australian music today with the video for their brand new single Lost Sentience. The track features Mark Poida from Aversions Crown on guest vocals. The decimatingly huge track is the first slice of their forthcoming EP ‘Death Dreams’ – which will be released on Friday July 28th.
The video showcases the heavy-as-fuck song and a storyline that centres around a man locked in a dingy basement, who after taking various substances is attacked and tied down by demons and tortured – eventuating in his death. But were the attackers ever really there? Substance abuse and the subsequent Mental health issues are raised by the clip and the stark, grimey imagery tells a horror-filled tale.
Daybreak started out as a group of five 15 year olds who became good mates through the band and over the years, have released two singles and an EP. They have supported a tonne of bands, including Ocean Grove, Hands Like Houses, Alpha Wolf, Polaris, Iconoclast, Hellions, Make Them Suffer and Attila.
