Brisbane’s Flynn Effect are today rolling out their second single from their upcoming Obsidian album tour. Obsidian is their second album and will be available on August 4th. The album can be pre-ordered here!

The bombastic heavy rock single premiered on Andrew Haug Radio on Monday night and today, the track is available online via iTunes and Spotify.

The short, but excellent, tour announced a few weeks ago takes place in Sydney’s The Factory Floor on Friday August 11th with Gods of Eden, Mercury Sky and Reign on Mars, Melbourne’s iconic The Workers Club on Sunday August 13th with caution:thieves, Enlight and Terrestrials, and in their hometown of Brisbane on Friday August 18th at The Brightside with Mercury Sky, Seraphic and Periapsis.

Vocalist Tomina Vincent says of the track; “We want people to see and hear the light and shade in what we do with our music. ‘Give In To Me’ is one of the most fun tracks on the record and somewhat of a departure from the usual for us. It was initially rejected but once we rediscovered it took an hour to finish and we were stoked to have a happy and catchy track to lift people up at the end of an emotionally heavy record. ‘Obsidian’ is all about contrast and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

Surfacing as a live band in 2014, Flynn Effect have established themselves within their scene as a force to be reckoned with–delivering music with a theatrical flair, dramatic poise and a sound that hits like a hurricane. The band’s debut album Skin was released in October of that year, with Heavy Magazine calling it “highly impressive.”
