With their invitation to Download Melbourne all set, Nails will be bringing their grindcore and powerviolence sound and tear everything in their surroundings apart!
WHO ARE NAILS?
Todd Jones – Vocals, Guitar
John Gianelli – Bass
Taylor Young – Drums
Starting out in 2009, Nails released their debut EP “Obscene Humanity” on a 12” vinyl, before releasing their first full-length record “Unsilent Death”, which would be produced, mixed and engineered by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou. From there, Nails would deliver a short, but extremely mordant albums that would go between 13 minutes to 21 minutes, within a three year gap between each release. The band’s third, and latest LP “You Will Never Be One of Us”, which would be their first release under Nuclear Blast, would be labelled one of the most favourable and best albums of 2016.
Nails have been highly acclaimed by not only many critics, but also well-known musicians such as Max Cavalera and Greg Puciato. At the same time, their live shows have been said to have one of the most intense and dangerous pits in metal, due to the caustic and belligerent persona that floats around their music. While a majority of their songs span between the thirty second to two minute mark, you can guarantee that this is a fine example of quality over quantity. What may be the most truculent show you’ll ever witness, will also be one of the most phenomenal shows you’ll get a chance to catch.
