Returning to their hometown of Mandurah (WA) after their just-wrapped massive first ever run of shows along the East Coast, Good Doogs have barely had time to put the kettle on before they head out on tour again – this time with WA pals Tired Lion and a brand new single, So Dumb.
So Dumb is a track about “making bad decisions without thinking them through or without realising how they’re going to affect other people, and the consequences that come with making those dumb decisions.”
Their last track, Nothing To Do, blasted the Doogs into the ears of fans Australia wide. Receiving major airplay from triple j and triple j unearthed: including being invited to play Groovin The Moo in Bunbury as well as being picked as unearthed Feature Artist at the start of this month, the break out single gained comparisons to Skegss, Wavves, Hockey Dad, and Dune Rats, and also led them to play some of their biggest shows so far.
The success of Nothing To Do packed out the rooms of their first ever East Coast tour, playing to hundreds of kids in Brisbane, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Wollongong, and Perth. It also led to signing with Adam Montgomery at recently announced new booking agencyFourtone (along with A. Swayze & The Ghosts, Bec Sandridge, Gold Class, The Gooch Palms, IV League, Slowly Slowly), and a sponsorship from major surf brand Rusty. Not bad for a first tour.
The Doogs is shaping up to be a major player in the surf-rock movement in Australia, jump aboard the ground swell of fun that seems to be following them. Don’t kook it.
