ZEKE’s North American Summer Tour With Weedeater And Others Begins Next Week; Hellbender Out Now On Relapse Records

Seattle’s long-running supercharged punk outfit ZEKE embark on their North American tour supporting Weedeater early next week, supporting their recently-released Hellbender LP, their first new album in over fourteen years.
The tour begins this Monday, June 25th in Cincinnati, Ohio, and runs through July 29th, ending in Asheville, North Carolina. Additional support will be provided by Sierra, and Unsane will also join the bill on the three Texas shows, July 19th, 20th, and 21st.
Short, fast, loud, and to the fuckin’ point, Hellbender contains fifteen tracks laced with ZEKE‘s signature mix of hyperspeed thrash-punk and Motörhead possessed, hard as nails, rock n’ roll. Complete with raucous, in-your-face production by Jack Endino (Nirvana, High On Fire, The Accüsed), and finished with cover art by Hollis Tucker and Lee Goode, Hellbender is the culmination of a band twenty-five years into their career, sounding more aggressive, immediate and turbo-charged than ever before! Ride to live…
ZEKE’s Hellbender is available now on CD, LP, and digital via Relapse Records. See the video for “Two Lane Blacktop” and stream/purchase the album through all digital streaming services HERE.

“The cynical way to look at Hellbender is that ZEKE are stuck doing the same style after a fourteen-year break, that they’re not tapped into what’s going on right now. But the truth is, there’s always room to rub the basics down to their most exposed. ZEKE are the dive bar that’s survived onslaughts of gentrification, knowing that the charm of lawless riffing and broken bottles never fades.” – Pitchfork

“Do you like beer? What about slapping fives? Friendship? Fast cars? ZEKE goes perfectly with all of these things; high octane punk-thrash as fun and obnoxious as the hotrod that graces the cover of their new LP Hellbender, their first in 14 years.” – Revolver Magazine

“…despite being around since 1992 they manage to still sound quite fucking ferocious. This kind of music depends so much on delivery, and they still sell these songs like they’ve been recorded live at a club in a tsunami of beer and tobacco spit.” – Decibel Magazine

“The entire album is legitimate bare bones punk rock and roll. No frills, all thrills with a pure ‘fuck it’ mentality and an audacity to incite… goddamn if this album is not a good time wrapped up in a kick ass delivery needed to turbo charge your life. 9/10” – Svbterranean

“Artistry and nuance have their place, but so does kick ass, blue collar punk and roll. You can’t argue with the precision and sheer intensity of these songs. This record has all the subtlety of a concrete block to the head, and nobody does that style better than ZEKE. It’s not for the pretentious, but Hellbender is a solid slab of speedrock.” – Punknews

“From opener ‘All the Way,’ they put the pedal to the metal with their up-tempo, pounding, groove-laden assault.” – Hellbound
