In Hearts Wake are an Australian metalcore/post-hardcore from Byron Bay. Fresh off the final ever Warped Tour, these five boys will be bringing their particular brand of metalcore to Unify in 2019. Their latest album ‘Ark’ was a dynamic breath of fresh air for the metalcore genre and has been received well by new and old fans alike.

In 2006, In Hearts Wake recorded their debut EP, consisting of 7 tracks, entitled ‘Into The Storm’. Come 2007, and they welcomed a new drummer, and worked towards refining their sound by writing heavier, faster and more technical songs, as well as embarking on their first Australian tour, which included 3 major states, and 3 major cities.
With just an average of seventeen, in December of 2007 the band began their 5-month studio recording schedule at Byron Bay’s SAE Institute to produce their second EP ‘The Gateway’, with Scottish producer James Lyall. The EP was self-financed by the band and the producer, and mixed by US engineer Daniel Castleman, who had previously worked with As I Lay Dying, and Winds Of Plague. Come 2010, and In Hearts Wake produced a split-EP with hardcore band The Bride.
Jump to 2012, and In Hearts Wake signed a record deal with UNFD, and released their label debut album ‘Divination’. It was produced at Random Awesome Studios in the US, and peaked at 27 on the ARIA charts. 2013 saw them touring the UK, Germany, Belgium, France and Austria as supports for The Amity Affliction, as well as an Australian tour in support of fellow Australians, Dream On, Dreamer. They also played four shows with electronicore heavyweights Enter Shikari.
In 2014, ‘Earthwalker’ was released and it peaked at number 5 on the official ARIA charts, and IN Hearts Wake embarked on an Australian tour to promote the album with support from Being an an Ocean, Dream On, Dreamer, Endless Heights and Sierra. Then comes 2015 which saw the release of ‘Skydancer’. Vocalist Jake Taylor stated in a documentary, that the album was recorded at the same time as 2014’s ‘Earthwalker’. An April Fool’s Day joke in 2016 unveiled the final piece in their three album series entitled ‘Seaskimmer’.
In 2016, In Hearts Wake worked with fellow Australians Northlane on a collaborative EP entitled ‘Equinox’, which was recorded in Melbourne with producer Will Putney and was released on April 20th through UNFD. The bands embarked on a co-headline tour with support from Hands Like Houses and Ocean Grove, and Conor Ward was officially announced as the bands drummer in late 2016.
2017 and the band’s latest album ‘Ark’ was released, which debuted at number 5 on the ARIA Charts, and they announced their We Are Waterborne initiative which aimed to clean up beaches around Australia, and the world with their fans. To celebrate the album release they embarked on their first We Are Waterborn beach clean-ups. The Australian clean-ups where organised with the help of Tangaroa Blue and Sea Shepherd. In February of 2018, the band released ‘Ark Prevails’, a four-track companion to ‘Ark’. All proceeds from the sale of ‘Ark Prevails’, via Bandcamps ‘name your price’ model, goes to Sea Shepherd.
