Wither’s story starts in conversations between friends in the lulls between tours and recording sessions as the five members found the time to explore their own sound together. Artist’s David De La Hoz, Jamie Marinos, Luke Weber, Liam Fowler and Jeremy Hughes have played alongside, recorded or produced one another’s music in different projects for years before it came time to pull their experience together for Wither.

“Wither was initially an idea between friends a few years ago, we wanted to do something new and heavy, so this started just as a hobby. It continued as a hobby for a long while until we realized the potential in the music we were writing.” – David De La Hoz

The first taste of Wither came in debut Nothing To No One, a standalone track proving the sonic assault the five members were capable of. It was swiftly followed by the announce of EP Rot And I and debut single Marionette.

Divisive, aggressive and terrifying, it was a hate fueled sonnet setting the stage for the looming EP and introduced the world to the themes of Rot And IA conceptual record detailing the Jekyll and Hyde relationship of it’s protagonist Tom.

Engineered, mixed and mastered by the band’s guitarist and producer Jamie Marinos (Alpha Wolf, Arkive, Pridelands, Thornhill) ‘Rot And I’ is the culmination of Wither’s vision and hint of their intent. Honest and creative story-telling combined with technical precision and exceptional musicality has turned what started as a jam band, into a creative and artistic powerhouse.
