Perth’s Daybreak have been on the lips of the Australian heavy community for some time now.

Recently, they were announced as one of the supports touring the country with Alpha Wolf, and now they are announcing the imminent arrival of new music – a three-track EP called Godfather – and the title track from that release is streaming now at Spotify.

The Godfather EP will be released on Wednesday, May 22.

The video for the title track of the release is out now and features the band playing the intense track inside an old mansion, which then transitions into Daybreak playing inside a cage of lights inside a massive black void.

Daybreak will also be on tour this May/June supporting Alpha Wolf’s ‘Fault’ Tour and have announced select headline sideshows.

Tickets for all shows can be found at their Godfather Tour Facebook Event.

Between getting early support from triple j Unearthed, to playing sold out rooms around the country with bands such as Polaris, Parkway Drive, Make Them Suffer and Alpha Wolf, the young five-piece have had a taste of the road and now they are starving for more.

They followed that up with their biggest track to date, Acid Green, and now this three-track EP makes good on all the promise they’ve shown to date.

While the pure anger of their youth still remains, the bands sound has matured into its current state, leaving behind their high school beginnings and moving forward into young adult life.

They’re not kids anymore, and they are more focused than ever.

The new EP ‘Godfather’ shows the band refining their sound further; with three tracks coming from three different angles of the heavy genre as the band see it.

Vocalist Shaun Cox describes this release as “…the true genesis of Daybreak.”
