RRB NTPC overview

Railway Recruitment Board organizes Non-technical Popular Categories Exam for recruitment to various posts like Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Clerk, Goods Guard, Station Master, Trains Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Senior Commercial cum Typist, Senior Timekeeper, and Commercial Apprentice in various zonal regions and Production Units of Railways.

The recent notification released by the authority comprises of 35208 vacancies. Candidates must visit the official website to fill the application form and know further about the notification.

The Aspirants attempting the RRB NTPC exam must mind the following eligibility criteria to prevent any trouble in the future during the recruitment process. Firstly, the candidate must be the legal resident/citizen of India, Bhutan, and Nepal. Secondly, the aspirant must be between the age of 18 and 30 years. Further, the candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university or 12th pass for some posts. The candidate should also pass certain medical standards to prove medical fitness.

RRB Exam

RRB NTPC recruitment is a multi-stage process consisting of Computer Based Test I and II, followed by an Aptitude test, Document Verification, and Medical Examination. The CBT stages consist of three different sections Mathematics, General Awareness, Logical Reasoning. The first stage consists of 100 questions while the second stage consists of 120 questions.

The Fee for the exam for the Candidates belonging to the General / OBC category is Rs. 500 while for the SC / ST / PWD / Ex-Serviceman /Transgender / Minorities / EWS category is Rs. 250 only.

RRB posts

RRB posts are divided into groups namely Undergraduate posts and Graduate posts. The salary for the Undergraduate Posts are: for Accounts Clerk, Junior Clerk, Trains Clerk, and Junior Timekeeper is Rs 19900 and for commercial cum Ticket Clerk Rs 21700. On the other hand, the salary for Traffic Assistant is Rs 25000 followed by Goods Guard, Senior Clerk, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Account Assistant, and Senior Timekeeper Rs 29200. The Commercial Apprentice and Station Master are paid the highest Rs 35400.

The workers are also entitled to allowances and perks along with their salaries like Transport Allowance (TA), Dearness Allowances (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Pension Scheme, Medical Benefits.
